Corruption touches every corner of Russian society

Posted by Nicholas Alan Clayton

In a brilliantly well-researched piece, Peter Finn of the Washington Post tells the story of Russian corruption–an institution Russians live with from birth until death. If you have any questions as to why Russia is having a hard time getting into the World Trade Organization, well it’s intellectual property stuff and this. Read it here.

  2. As someone who lived in Slovakia and taught at a university there I can tell you that corruption is not only Russia’s problem; it’s something that touches all former communist countries. Some progress has been made but the acceptance of petty theft, bribing, and cheating is a way of life for many still and this won’t change for a few generations at least.
