Gallup: Saakashvili’s approval rate at 26 percent
According to a recently released Gallup opinion poll, only 26 percent of Tbilisi residents approve of the job embattled Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili is doing. Furthermore, 42 percent said they want to see early elections against 25 percent opposed.
Despite all the angst, a large majority of Tbilisians said they do not expect the president to resign voluntarily as the opposition has been demanding in its week-long protests in the capital.
The poll was made up of 410 phone interviews and 300 face-to-face interviews with Tbilisians aged 15 or older.
