Russia makes plans for deep space exploration

Posted by Nicholas Alan Clayton

BBC reported today that while most of the International Space Station’s partners plan to scrap its mission and deorbit the station by 2020, Russia will be keeping its segments of the station and use them as a future support station for expeditions to the Moon, Mars and beyond.

This plan has ruffled feathers with NASA because it planned on using the Russian-made ISS propulsion segments to eventually force it into the atmosphere and destroy it.
